I just finished my first day of my reset. It’s a 21-day cleanse. There are three phases, one phase each week, designed to heal your body with food. I decided to do it because I was feeling, well, not so great. I was sluggish, had a lot of brain fog, my moods were all over the place, and I was having some anxiety. All things that end up happening when I don’t really treat myself the right way and don’t stick to my normal balanced eating routine.
So let’s be real- I love pizza!! But indulging in pizza and other things like that on more regular basis doesn’t really agree with me. So it's time to clear that out. This is my third time doing this whole cleanse and I have learned that the first week is really just about starting to adjust to your diet without things like processed sugars and caffeine. Easier said than done!
Today I definitely felt tired. I know it’s just the beginning and the next couple of days could probably get a little bit worse. But I know that it’s worth it because after that I’m going to feel awesome and my energy level is going to be great!! Until then, I’m going to try to take it easy and get rest when I can. Normally I get up at around 5:30am… I probably won’t be doing that for the next couple of days. I will probably sleep in as much as I can and try to take it easy. Another thing about this cleanse is… there’s no working out while youre doing it! So that is another aspect in which I will be taking things easy on my body.
Despite this being a pretty strict cleanse, the food menu and portions are actually pretty impressive! For breakfast today I had two eggs and a slice of whole grain toast and some spinach. Lunch was a giant greek salad with chicken (it was huge!!) I had a snack in the afternoon, and for dinner I had baked salmon with asparagus and potatoes and it was all delicious!! I also did a little prep tonight trying to get a few things ready ahead of time so that I won’t be spending quite as much time in the kitchen in the next couple days.
We have a nice group of people (there are over 50 of us now!) doing this from my team. I am super excited because normally I do it by myself!! I will check in here every day and keep you posted as to how it’s going, so if you have questions about the program, feel free to email me at [email protected]
